Hundreds of millions of pixels combined form an image, similarly to the construction of DNA forming a person. My research into Chuck Close, Robert Silvers and Nancy Burson lead me to create a physical representation of the pixel & DNA.
Using hundreds of family photographs and a self portrait of myself I made a mosaic ‘pixel’ effect image. Upon close inspection the spectator sees the building blocks of the photograph, of me. When the spectator moves further away they see the completed image, the completed person.
